SURFACES

My abstract paintings are sometimes inspired by specific surfaces; water, the patina of crumbling walls and aged boat hulls are subjects that I return to. Other paintings are purely about the joy of mark making, the interaction between paint, surface, and colour. My processes include pouring, spraying, and rubbing back paint. The outcomes often suggest landscapes but are not direct representations.
