SURFACES

Intuitive mark making and experimental application of paint are ongoing themes in my work. These paintings are sometimes inspired by specific imagery; the patina of aged boat hulls, or microscopic underwater worlds, others are purely about the interaction between paint, surface, and colour. Processes include pouring, spraying, and rubbing back paint. The outcomes often suggest landscapes but are not direct representations.
